CCR is pleased to cosponsor the next No Separate Justice vigil, which will focus on the U.S. government’s use of Special Administrative Measures (SAMs) and highlight the case of Ahmed Abu Ali who has been subjected to SAMs for over 11 years.

Prisoners subject to SAMs are held in solitary confinement at federal prisons such as ADX “Supermax” Florence and lower Manhattan’s own Metropolitan Correctional Center. SAMs continue to be a focus of concern for human rights researchers, lawyers, affected family members, and activists, particularly since the Bush Administration’s amplified use of the measures to target individuals convicted of terrorism-related offenses post-9/11.
