Join CCR on February 3rd from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm to remember and honor David Kato at a candlelight vigil organized by the International Lesbian and Gay Human Rights Commission. The vigil will take place at Dag Hammarskjod Public Plaza on 47th Street and Second Avenue, followed by a procession to Uganda House, the Ugandan mission to the U.N., at 336 East 45th Street.
On January 26, David Kato, one of Uganda’s most outspoken LGBTI rights activists, was brutally beaten to death in his home in Kampala. David served as Advocacy Director for Sexual Minorities of Uganda (SMUG), a coalition of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) human rights organizations.
